Advocacy is taking action to help people say what they want, secure their rights, represent their interests and obtain services they need.
Advocates and advocacy schemes work in partnership with the people they support and take their side. Advocacy promotes social inclusion, equality and social justice.
The aim of the service is to empower older people to speak up for themselves.
Our referrals come from:-
We will match advocates with clients and support them to speak up and this could be for the short term or with ongoing issues. The support will end once a client’s feels empowered that they no longer need an advocate or when the issues are resolved.
The service provided is free and available to those 65+, resident of Newham regardless of their housing status and need support.
